22 Stylish Designs to Hook Up Your Knitting with a Touch of Crochet
December 1, 2006
In this fresh collection of 22 patterns for garments, accessories, and home decor items, needlework designer Jensen ("Knit Scarves!") combines the techniques of knitting and crocheting to take advantage of the best qualities of each. Some projects are crocheted with a touch of knitting (e.g., an afghan with a wide knitted border), but most are knitted with a touch of crochet (e.g., the dressy tank top with filet crochet yoke and bottom edging). There are full-page color photographs of each design and separate step-by-step instructions for the knitted and crocheted elements of each piece. As a means of awakening knitters to the creative possibilities of using crochet touches in their own designs and to enhance commercial patterns, this book is recommended for public libraries.
